As I enter the Whitepec space, all I could see was pink confetti. It reminded me of those childhood birthday parties when it was okay to wear pink tutus and tiaras. A SCAD graduate, Kelly Cloninger has put on a Girl Party in that space, a celebration of femininity and feminism. “Girl Party stemmed from this idea of feminism, my idea of feminism,” she explains. After over 20 group shows, she now shines on her first solo gig at one of her favorite galleries, whitespace gallery.
