A few weekends ago, Caroline and I visited artist Katie Troisi’s studio at The Goat Farm Arts Center for a two-hour beginner’s ceramic workshop. We previously featured Katie on our site and are fans of her work, including her tentacle sculpture from last year’s Phoenix Fest, so we were excited to check out her new class. The one-on-one beginner lesson costs $55 and includes materials, wheel instruction, trimming of the piece and a basic glaze session. The lesson was laid back and we even had our own personal Ghost moments with Katie as we molded our bowls to perfection. She showed us the basics of clay and wheel techniques, including her favorite tips when making a bowl.
