ON LOCATION | Hodgepodge Coffee House’s New Murals

Hodgepodge Coffee House & Gallery got a facelift, y’all! This past weekend, Aug. 13-14, 11 artists came together for a two-day paint party under the Atlanta summer sun. The exterior wall revamp was part of the Blank Space Art Show.

After whitewashing  the entire building, Hodgepodge built up the anticipation with a large countdown on the side of the building until the big day. The newly decorated walls feature bold murals by sQuishiepuss, Kevin Bongang, Catlanta, Tiny Doors ATLKillamariChris Veal, Chi Duong, Lela Brunet, Kate Logan, Kasey Gann and Monica Alexander. The end product is the perfect combo of emerging and established local artists. Better yet, we are stoked to hear Killamari is working on unveiling an app so you can interact with his street-facing piece.

We couldn’t help but stop by to see the creative process behind the murals and pick up a “Support Local Art” t-shirt (proceeds go directly to the muralists). Scroll through the behind-the-scenes photos above, then be sure to stop by to see these murals in person. We’re excited about this new iteration of Atlanta’s favorite coffee shop.
