That’s two years of promoting the best of Atlanta’s literature, arts and music scenes. The two-day bash starts this Friday at the Downtown Players Club on Broad Street with a dance party and art exhibition, then culminates with a Phoenix Fest pop-up in Old Fourth Ward on Saturday afternoon with live murals, an artist market and more.

Want more? Here are five reasons to hit up this sure-to-be amazing bash.

  1. Art curated by local artist Katie Troisi.
We’re serious fans of Katie Troisi around these parts, from her canvas art to her ceramics (remember when we took her ceramic class at the Goat Farm?). DBF brought her on to curate the group exhibition for Friday’s party, featuring Amandine Drouet, Andrew Catanese, Llucy Llong, Marcy Starz, Wihro Kim, William Downs and more. So much good art to enjoy.
  2. Get your dance on.
DBF knows how to throw a party, so they booked acts Grand Prize Winners From Last Year and Dot.s to liven up the dance floor while you mingle.
  3. Watch your favorite local artists create.
On Saturday, stop by the Phoenix Fest pop-up and watch Monica Alexander, Protozoasaur, Cold Arted and sQuishiepuss as they paint live murals on site. Tiny Doors ATL will have an installation at the pop-up as well.
  4. Get your shop on at the artist market.
Pick up new art for your abode at the pop-up, which will feature vendors including Electric Revival, The Farm’s Womb and Lucy Ricketts Illustration.
  5. Support a really amazing organization.
DBF’s mission is to cultivate and highlight Atlanta’s ever-expanding arts scene. Stop by and support local artists and congratulate the DBF team on doing amazing work while getting your dance on. They’re also offering a special deal for the weekend: At both events, if you preorder a copy of Deer Bear Wolf Magazine Issue #4, you’ll get a free copy of Issue #3.
